Hello, lovely readers! I’m Pauline, the creative force behind Liora Interior Design, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to my little corner of the design universe. Let me take a moment to introduce myself and share the story of how I turned my passion for interior design into a fulfilling journey (which actually just started) and where I get my design inspirations from.
From the Heart of Germany
As a country gal myself, I’ve always cherished nature and all the beauty that surrounds me. Originally from the enchanting landscapes of southern Germany, I inherited a deep appreciation for art, culture, and aesthetics from a young age. The German commitment to precision and craftsmanship has significantly shaped my design philosophy. I’ve always believed that a well-designed space has the power to elevate the human experience, and this belief has been the driving force behind my unique approach to design.
My Design Inspirations
As much as I love my home country and the beautiful nature I grew up in, I was particularly inspired by designs abroad. France in particular has inspired me with its beautiful interiors and unique design. I lived in Paris myself for a few months and still always enjoy traveling there. A stroll through the picturesque alleyways, the sight of the beautiful sights, the smell of fresh croissants and baguettes and the easy way of artistic life. All this made me realize that art is not just something on canvas or in the form of sculptures in museums, but life itself, which surrounds us every day. Of course, I also enjoy spending time in a museum and looking at the beautiful pieces of art that are put together so exclusively and given a space all to themselves. My favorite museums in Paris, are the Rodin Museum and the Musee L’Orangerie. So if you haven’t been to Paris or generally France before, this is your sign. The elegant and sumptuous style of French castles and country houses combined with the historical but also modern styles of Parisian apartments with their timeless and classic design inspire me so much in my daily work, but also personal life. The whole city is an inspiration of art and life!
The expression „Je ne sais quoi“ doesn’t exist for nothing because the effortless elegance is something unique that I have rarely found anywhere else in the world.
In addition to France with its classic and magnificent elegance, I am also particularly inspired by the British countryside. Winding cottages, bricks, wood-burning stoves and muted colors have always made my heart beat faster. It has long been my dream to one day live in the Cotswolds or Cornwall. The beautiful landscapes take your breath away and give you comfort and peace. On the other hand, the grass is always greener is a popular German expression for the fact that what we don’t have always seems better and more desirable. But if it weren’t for that, would we ever try new things and venture out? I think it’s a good mix to appreciate your home and experience adventures far away at the same time. That’s why I like to take inspiration from the world and incorporate different styles, elements and textures from all over the world into my designs. A Dream Takes Flight
My journey into the world of interior design was ignited by a dream – a dream to create not just visually appealing homes but also spaces that evoke joy and excitement with every step. I’ve often been the go-to friend for interior design advice, finding immense pleasure in envisioning the potential of rooms. Armed with a background as a trained marketing manager and foreign language correspondent in English, coupled with hands-on marketing experience, I made the conscious decision to breathe life into my grand dream.
Taking a leap of faith, I enrolled in interior design studies at the German Institute of Interior Design. To gain practical experience, I immersed myself in a four-month internship with a renowned German interior designer, where I independently executed customer projects. This hands-on experience added depth to my theoretical knowledge and fueled my passion for turning design visions into reality.
